Key fob battery

The key fob battery on the 2024 Tacoma dies very often (lasting only 6-12 months).

The battery is CR2450.

Battery saving mode

The key fob can be placed in battery saving mode.

To enter battery saving mode:

1. Hold the LOCK button
2. Press UNLOCK twice
3. Confirm the indicator flashes 4 times
4. Do NOT press any other buttons (that will exit battery saving mode)

To confirm in battery saving mode:

1. Try using keyless entry (locking/unlocking your doors by touching the door handle), it should NOT work if in battery saving mode

To exit battery saving mode:

1. Press any of the buttons (unlock, lock, etc)
